Tamarind presents: Umeed e Bahaar

Dancing lady

Dear Friend,

Starting next year (2012), Tamarind will be hosting literary evenings on a regular basis. At these events the attendees will recite their own kalaam or share worthy poetry by someone else. Recitation in tarannum will be encouraged. There may be a set theme for each mehfil. Perhaps even a tamseeli musha'era on occasion.

The first such event will be on Saturday January 28th, 2012 at 8:00 PM at the Medford residence of Drs. Shermeen and Nadeem Ahsan Residence, Medford NJ.

THIS EVENT IS NOW COMPLETELY BOOKED.

The evening will be conducted in the form of an informal musha'era under the direction of a nazim and a sadr e mehfil. Most participants will be expected to recite a piece of poetry -- on a voluntary basis. If you consider yourself a poetry aficionado and would like to share your favorite poetry then this event is for you.

With best wishes for the coming year!
